Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program

September 1st marks the beginning of the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program, something set up to quell the outrage from customers who bought the companies system only to find them drastically reducing the price. What happens now is that those who had bought a device will receive 20 games absolutely free courtesy of Nintendo. 10 of these games were released today and are...

  • Super Mario Bros
  • Yoshi
  • Zelda 2 The adventure of Linnk
  • Donkey Kong Jr
  • Balloon Fight
  • Ice Climber
  • NES Open Tournament Golf
  • Wrecking Crew
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Metroid
All of these games are old NES games and the other 10 to arrive later this year will have been old GBA games. Downloading these games is not the most simple thing in the world as there is no direct download link in the eshop. Instead you will have to open up the shop, go to menu in the top left, settings/other, Your Downloads, and then scroll down to each of the games and click on the bottom right side where there should be a download button.

While this may or may not make up for the price drop made by Nintendo, it is good to see the company making an effort. Also they aren't just putting out half baked games, we are getting good quality ports (at least from what I have seen so far) For  me this will make the 3DS more useful as I am to cheap to really buy any games for it. Let me know what you think down below. Are the free games good enough of a payment to you?

  1. Are they worth it? I'd prefer $100 eshop credit myself. Anyone can emulate these on their PSP.
